Perlmutter started off working in reportage photography with a project for Converse and The Orange Dot Gallery, 88 days, a homage to Robert Frank's The Americans.  He has since moved into film, and having completed several shorts, he is now mid-flow in writing his first feature film, set in South America, where ... View morehe's presently residing for his research.  He uses foreign territories as a means to explore himself and his characters.  Perlmutter says: "There is an honest purity that comes about from constant unrest and travelling alone; the uncompromising grind of the world. Nobody stops. Nobody cares."
