the best movie poster ever for andy warhol + paul morrisey’s radical 1966 film chelsea girls was designed by alan aldridge + i just came across the movie on dangerous minds who reccount the back story to its launch, inc critic rex reed’s quote: “Chelsea Girls is a three and a half hour cesspool of vulgarity and talentless confusion which is about as interesting as the inside of a toilet bowl”, but don’t let that put you off; it perfectly encapsulates warhol’s inner circle in all its obscene glory, presented as a split screen, running simultaneously on two projectors with alternating soundtracks + a mixture of b&w + colour footage; see the full movie below
