Born in Buenos Aires, Throup developed his passion for labels such as: Stone Island and C.P. Company, from growing up in Burnley (Lancashire, in UK). He graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2006 with an MA in Fashion Menswear, with a collection entitled 'When Football Hooligans Become Hindu Gods'. Fascinated with anatomy... View more, his acclaimed hand-drawn characters become the primary tool in the exploration of his 'justified design philosophy', which highlights the necessity of a reason or function behind all design features. In 2008 he collaborated on 2 projects with Stone Island presented at Milan Fashion Week, and began working as Creative Consultant with Umbro, leading to him creating both concept and design of the England teams' football kits for 2010 World Cup. Together with C.P. Company he launched the special 20th anniversary edition of the iconic Goggle Jacket (originally designed by Massimo Osti). A special installation at Dover Street Market last year, launched his Archive Research Project with Umbro. In July 2011, he was appointed Creative Director of Kasabian, directing their video for 'Switchblade Smiles', and creating the artwork for their most recent album 'Velociraptor!' He has won various awards at ITS (International Talent Support), and has worked as an art director and stylist with: i-D, Arena Homme +, and VMan, amongst others.
